Home EV Charging in Indian Trail
Most Indian Trail installs are a new 240 volt circuit from your panel to the garage. We work in homes on both sides of US 74, from older streets near the town center to the newer subdivisions.
Newer homes often have the panel on a garage wall, which keeps the wire run short. Older homes may need a closer look at the panel before we install anything.
What We Install
- Level 2 chargers from ChargePoint, Emporia, Grizzl-E and others.
- Tesla Wall Connectors, including power sharing for two Teslas.
- NEMA 14-50 outlets for plug in chargers.
- Panel upgrades when your panel can't take the charger.

(704) 555-0142Duke Energy or Union Power?
Indian Trail homes don't all have the same power company. Some are on Duke Energy, and others are on Union Power Cooperative.
That matters for credits. Duke's Charger Prep Credit only applies to Duke customers, so check the name on your power bill before you count on it.
If you're on Union Power, ask the co-op whether it offers anything for home EV charging. Program rules change, so we check what applies when we quote.
Where to Put Your Charger
Mount the charger close to where your charge port sits when you park, so the cable reaches without stretching across the floor.
No room in the garage? An outside wall or a post by the driveway works too, with a charger rated for the weather. Summer thunderstorms are common here, so outdoor gear needs to be sealed and rated for wet locations.
Permits in Indian Trail
Indian Trail is in Union County, not Mecklenburg, so the permit goes through a different office than it would in Charlotte.
We pull the permit and meet the inspector, so you don't have to deal with the paperwork. Once the inspector signs off, you're ready to start charging at home.
What It Costs in Indian Trail
ContractorPlus estimates $1,464 to $2,928 for an EV charger install in the Charlotte area. A charger near your panel lands at the low end, and a panel upgrade or long wire run pushes it higher.
These are estimates, so we give you a firm number before any work starts.
Other Areas We Serve
We also serve Matthews, Mint Hill, Waxhaw and other nearby North Carolina towns.
